River Float the day after the Aspen Psychedelic Symposium

The day after the Aspen Psychedelic Symposium, a group of friends are joining together for a relaxing river float along the beautiful Roaring Fork River, followed by a BBQ a private residence in Carbondale.

This is an amateur trip organized by Randy Hencken, founder of Inside-Out Journeys, former MAPS communications director, former SSDP chairman, and former river guide.
Space is limited and guests will be accommodated on a first sign up basis.

​NOTE, AS OF TUESDAY EVENING MAY 28, OUR BOATS ARE LIKELY FULL. HOWEVER, WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO STILL SIGNUP TO BE ON OUR WAITLIST AND IN CASE WE FIND ADDITIONAL RAFTS.

Please note that this float is complimentary and being led by a group of amateur friends who own boats and love sharing the river with others. This is not a professional trip - this is a friends and family float. By joining us, you are acknowledging and assuming the inherent risks associated with river rafting.

Most of the section we are running are relatively tame class 1 & 2 waters. There is one class 3 rapid that will give us a little excitement. You will have an option to be in a boat where you ride and the boatman rows or you can be in a boat that will require some paddling. We even have paddle boards to share!
We have life jackets to share and dry bags to store small important items.
​
Please bring comfortable clothes and shoes that can get wet, along with essentials like a towel, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, drinks in non-glass containers, snacks, and your smiles.
Itinerary
8:30 AM depart from Aspen with carpools & caravans of friends. Drop a car off at Two Rivers Park in Glenwood Springs, travel to the Carbondale Boat Ramp by 10 AM.

10 AM meet boat crews at Carbondale Boat Ramp.
10:30 AM depart on float.
1:30 PM (approximately) disembark at Two Rivers Park.
2:30 PM (approximately) Meet at Christie's house on the Crystal River in Carbondale for BBQ. We will provide food with consideration of dietary needs and nonalcoholic drinks. Feel free to BYOB. Address to be supplied at the end of the float.

Carbondale Boat Ramp, arrive by 10 AM
Note if getting to the boat ramp from the south east (Aspen), you will go past the boat ramp and make a u turn.
